plowing your own property or someone you know (for free) is allowed

plowing commercially (for money) you need a NYS business license, NYS tax certificate, commercial insurance, added liability insurance (property damage), possible DOT inspection depending on the rig. I am sure Im missing something

plowing the streets, need to be contracted by the town, village, state

What about doing a recovery?? I have stopped a couple of times with the jeep and pulled someone from a ditch on the side of the road. A few times the police showed up but didnt say I was doing anything wrong, put on his lights and watched the recovery then left when I was done. Every time I have gotten paid even though I didnt ask for a payment...

eh what i do is always keep common tools and jumper cables in my trunk. Youll be suprised how much u make just by randomly asking people on the side of the road if they need a jump or a tool. Its not like i ask for money but 5-10 dollors here and there = good pizza money =]

haha yea this time of year is great for stuff like that, especialy when people get hung up in the snow, pull them out besides the occasional tip it feels good to lend a hand.
